Costume basically represents the way a particular group of people get dressed-up. It shows their culture their living style, their tastes and customs or rituals these people follow. Traditional Indian clothing is known for its vibrant colors and designs across the globe. In India we find a variety of cultures and communities that follow their own customs. Not only their language, food and cultures are different but the way these people get dressed-up is also different. Traditional Indian clothing is available in varieties of elegant and colorful designs and styles. India itself is a land of varieties so different styles and textures of clothing is followed in different religions and regions. Considering different weather conditions people dress-up themselves. The most famous lady’s traditional Indian dress is sari. A sari is tied in different manners in different regions but the fundamental is the same. There are a lot of factors that influence the way a sari is tied but one of the major factors is climate. A sari is tied differently in the warmer regions than those of colder regions. Another very famous traditional dress is “Salwar Kameez”. These are available in varied styles, sizes and different cloth stuff. A kameez is a long top or shirt worn on the upper portion of the body while a salwar is worn in the lower portion just like a trouser. Men these days are also very particular about what they wear. For men, the most famous traditional Indian clothing is a traditional Indian Kurta. A kurta comes in countless number of styles and designs and people wear it in different ways in different regions. A traditional kurta is normally worn along with a “Pyzama” or a “Dhoti” playing the role of a pant. These are worn by men on some traditional occasions like traditional Indian festivals or marriages.
